The Bagel…Remixed

I love to read, and most of the books that I come across are more along the lines of obnoxious comedies than anything with substance. That being said, I recently finished Lies That Chelsea Handler Told Me. Amazing. Anyway, since I read it, there’s something I’ve been wanting to try – a hollowed bagel with cream cheese and salsa. Boyfriend, who is the usual breakfast-maker wasn’t in the mood for cooking this a.m….good thing I woke up this morning with my mind set on making these and by some miracle I had EVERY INGREDIENT! I love when that happens :)

So here’s the deal: take a bagel (pick a flavor, any flavor), scoop out the carb-y insides, toast it, fill it half way with some cream cheese and top with some salsa. Yummmmmm. Thank you Heather McDonald, you inspired a life changing breakfast experience :)

Hello!

Hello there and thanks for reading – I’ve never really blogged before, but how much different can it be the Facebook or Twitter? I expect it to be much more fun since I’m not limited to 140 characters or limit the information I’m blogging about to who I’m friends with.

My whole idea here is to share with you the things I love…a cupcake here, a craft there and everything in between!  I mean, who doesn’t love cupcakes (besides my boyfriend, who is strictly a pie guy)? Cupcakes are in – there are more shows on TV and bakeries devoted strictly to cupcakes than ever before, and that’s because they’re so fun and there’s no limit as to what you can do with them. I’m not much of a baker, but only because I don’t have much experience with homemade cooking. Up to this point, Betty Crocker and I have had a great thing going on.

If I had a dollar for each time I walked into a store, saw something cute and refused to buy it because “I can make that myself…” I’d be pretty rich :) I usually never end up making the item, but perhaps this blog will make me motivated to try new things and explore my creativity.

Come back often to see what’s new, follow me on Twitter, or leave a comment with your blog name – maybe it will be one of my new faves :)
